Chopped Cheeseburger Biscuits (Printer-Friendly)

A tasty bake featuring layered biscuits, seasoned beef, sautéed onions, and melty cheddar cheese.

# What You'll Need:

→ Meat

01 - 1 lb ground beef (85% lean)

→ Dough

02 - 1 tube (8 count) Pillsbury original biscuits

→ Cheese

03 - 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese

→ Vegetables

04 - 1 small onion, chopped

→ Seasoning

05 - 1 tablespoon Montreal steak seasoning (or preferred burger seasoning)

→ Fat

06 - 1 teaspoon vegetable oil (for sautéing)

# Steps to Follow:

01 - Preheat oven to 350°F. Lightly grease a 7x9 inch glass or ceramic baking dish with oil or cooking spray.
02 - Separate each biscuit in half and arrange the bottom halves evenly in the baking dish. Bake for 5 minutes to prevent sogginess.
03 - Heat oil over medium heat in a pan. Add chopped onion and cook for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until translucent.
04 - Add ground beef to the pan with onions. Break apart with a wooden spoon and cook until no longer pink and browned. Drain excess fat.
05 - Stir in Montreal steak seasoning. Adjust salt or spice to taste.
06 - Remove biscuit bottoms from oven. Spread beef and onion mixture evenly over biscuits. Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese on top. Cover with remaining biscuit halves, pressing lightly.
07 - Bake for 20-25 minutes until biscuit tops are golden brown and cheese is bubbly. Check at 20 minutes to avoid overbaking.
08 - Let rest for 5 minutes before serving. Offer ketchup, pickles, or burger sauce as condiments.

# Extra Suggestions:

01 - Pre-baking the biscuit bottoms prevents sogginess and retains a crisp texture.
02 - Resting the bake before slicing allows the cheese to set for easier serving.
03 - Leftovers keep up to 3 days refrigerated or freeze for up to one month.
