01 -
Preheat oven to 350°F. Lightly grease a 7x9 inch glass or ceramic baking dish with oil or cooking spray.
02 -
Separate each biscuit in half and arrange the bottom halves evenly in the baking dish. Bake for 5 minutes to prevent sogginess.
03 -
Heat oil over medium heat in a pan. Add chopped onion and cook for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until translucent.
04 -
Add ground beef to the pan with onions. Break apart with a wooden spoon and cook until no longer pink and browned. Drain excess fat.
05 -
Stir in Montreal steak seasoning. Adjust salt or spice to taste.
06 -
Remove biscuit bottoms from oven. Spread beef and onion mixture evenly over biscuits. Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese on top. Cover with remaining biscuit halves, pressing lightly.
07 -
Bake for 20-25 minutes until biscuit tops are golden brown and cheese is bubbly. Check at 20 minutes to avoid overbaking.
08 -
Let rest for 5 minutes before serving. Offer ketchup, pickles, or burger sauce as condiments.
