Tasty Korean Beef Bowl (Printer-Friendly)

Savory Korean-style beef bowl with ground beef, sweet sauce, scallions, sesame, and soft-boiled eggs over rice.

# What You'll Need:

→ Protein

01 - 1 lb lean ground beef, at room temperature
02 - 2 large eggs

→ Sauce

03 - 3 tbsp soy sauce
04 - 1 tbsp granulated sugar
05 - 1 tbsp toasted sesame oil
06 - 2 cloves garlic, minced

→ Toppings

07 - 2 scallions, finely sliced
08 - 1 tbsp toasted sesame seeds

→ Base

09 - 2 cups cooked white rice, hot

# Steps to Follow:

01 - Boil eggs for exactly 6 minutes, then immediately transfer to ice water to cool. Peel carefully to preserve runny yolk.
02 - In a bowl, combine soy sauce, sugar, sesame oil, and minced garlic. Stir until sugar is fully dissolved.
03 - Heat a skillet over medium-high heat, add ground beef and cook until browned, breaking into small pieces as it cooks.
04 - Pour the prepared bulgogi sauce over the browned beef and cook together for 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens and coats the meat.
05 - Divide hot rice between bowls, top evenly with sauced beef, sprinkle scallions and toasted sesame seeds. Serve with halved soft-boiled eggs on the side.

# Extra Suggestions:

01 - Use eggs that are not very fresh for easier peeling.
02 - Keep beef and rice separate when storing leftovers to preserve texture.
03 - Sauce can be prepared up to one week ahead and refrigerated.
