01 -
Set oven temperature to 350°F. Lightly grease or line a baking dish with parchment paper to prevent sticking.
02 -
In a large bowl, mix ground beef, breadcrumbs, milk, egg, onion, garlic, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, parsley, paprika, salt, and black pepper. Gently combine to keep texture tender.
03 -
Shape mixture into a loaf and place in prepared dish. Optionally, spread additional ketchup on top. Bake uncovered for 45 minutes or until internal temperature reaches 160°F.
04 -
Remove meatloaf from oven and let cool for 10 minutes to prevent puff pastry from melting upon contact.
05 -
Roll out puff pastry on a floured surface, cut into 1/2-inch strips, and wrap loosely around meatloaf in crisscross layers, leaving gaps for eyes.
06 -
Return to oven and bake 15–20 minutes until pastry is puffed and golden brown.
07 -
Press black olive halves into pastry gaps to create eyes. Warm marinara sauce to serve alongside or drizzle for a dramatic effect. Slice thickly and serve hot.
