Preheat the oven to 200°C. Line a baking tray with baking paper for easy removal and minimal sticking.

Combine minced beef, bread or breadcrumbs, onion, garlic, egg, salt, pepper, and Italian herbs in a large mixing bowl. Mix gently until just combined to keep meatballs tender.

Using damp hands, shape the mixture into balls 2.5–4 cm in diameter. Place formed meatballs evenly spaced on the prepared tray.

Bake in the preheated oven for 20–25 minutes, until meatballs are browned and cooked through. The internal temperature should reach 70°C.

While meatballs are baking, gently warm ketchup in a small saucepan over low heat, stirring occasionally until heated through.

Transfer baked meatballs to a serving plate. Pour warm ketchup over the meatballs and ensure they are well coated. Serve hot as desired.
