Set the oven to 350°F (177°C) to preheat.

Brown the ground beef in a skillet over medium heat until fully cooked. Drain excess grease and transfer the beef to a large mixing bowl.

Add condensed cream of mushroom soup and condensed cream of cheddar cheese soup to the bowl with the cooked beef.

Mix in frozen cubed potatoes and half a cup of shredded cheddar cheese. Season with salt and black pepper to taste, then stir thoroughly to combine all ingredients evenly.

Grease a 9 x 13 inch casserole dish. Pour the mixture into the prepared dish and spread evenly. Sprinkle the remaining half cup of shredded cheddar cheese on top and cover with aluminum foil.

Bake covered for 30 minutes in the preheated oven to allow flavors to meld and potatoes to cook through.

Remove the foil carefully and continue baking uncovered for an additional 30 minutes to brown the cheese topping.
