BLT Sandwich with Garlic Aioli (Printer-Friendly)

Crispy bacon, fresh tomatoes, and tangy garlic aioli layered on toasted bread for a flavorful lunch.

# What You'll Need:

→ Bacon

01 - 8 slices center-cut bacon

→ Garlic Aioli

02 - 1 clove fresh garlic, finely minced
03 - 1 tablespoon lemon juice, freshly squeezed
04 - 4 tablespoons light mayonnaise
05 - Pinch of salt
06 - Freshly ground black pepper, to taste

→ Sandwich Assembly

07 - 8 slices wheat or honey wheat sandwich bread, lightly toasted
08 - 4 large green leaf lettuce leaves
09 - 2 medium tomatoes, sliced (preferably vine-ripened)

# Steps to Follow:

01 - Combine minced garlic and lemon juice in a small bowl. Let sit for 5 minutes to soften the raw garlic flavor. Stir in the light mayonnaise, salt, and black pepper until smooth. Refrigerate until ready to use.
02 - In a skillet over medium heat, cook bacon slices until crisp, about 8 to 10 minutes. Transfer to paper towels to drain excess fat.
03 - Lightly toast the sandwich bread slices until golden and crisp.
04 - Spread garlic aioli evenly on one side of each toasted bread slice. Layer with two bacon slices, a leaf of green leaf lettuce, and tomato slices. Top with remaining bread slices, aioli side down, and press gently.
05 - Cut sandwiches in half if desired and serve immediately while bacon is warm and bread is crisp.

# Extra Suggestions:

01 - Allowing garlic to sit in lemon juice mellows its sharpness, creating a smoother aioli flavor.
