Arrange 3 slices of American cheese evenly on top of the bread in the basket.

Butter another slice of bread with one-quarter of the remaining butter. Close the sandwich by placing this slice, buttered side up, on top of the cheese.

Close the air fryer and cook at 175°C for 4-5 minutes until the bread is lightly golden.

Carefully flip the sandwich using tongs and air fry for an additional 2-3 minutes, cooking to your preferred toastiness.

Repeat the process with the remaining bread, cheese, and butter to make the second sandwich. Serve immediately for optimal crispness and melt.
